Here are some helpful tips for picking out the right pair of sunglasses:

Always Protect Your Eyes First and Foremost

Select sunglasses with a high UV protection in order to avoid cataracts, burns and cancer caused by the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays.

Do You Want to Look Like a Movie Star?

Decide on the type of personality and style you want your sunglasses to convey – you can turn heads like a bona fide movie star with a glamourous oversized pair! If you’re a star athlete, perhaps a wraparound pair will be able to keep up with your active lifestyle. Or perhaps you want to go “retro” with a stylish pair of Aviators or Wayfarers or make a political statement with a tea shade popularized by John Lennon – the choice is yours!

Select the Right Frames for Your Face

Select the right frames for your face – Remember, opposites attract. If you have a square face, go for those round glasses. If you have a round face, experiment with polygonal or square sunglasses. If your face is a bit flat, don’t be afraid to select bright colours to help make your expressions more noticeable!

Don’t Be Afraid to Add Some Colour

Sunglasses can come in a variety of tints that can help you detect contrasts in colours. If you’re a winter sports or hunting enthusiast, select a brown or yellow tint. If you’re a tennis player, blue or green tints will help you better see those bright, yellow tennis balls coming at you. Gray lenses significantly help reduce the intensity of light.

CONCERNED ABOUT SCRATCH-RESISTANCE?

Sunglasses come in a variety of materials these days and not all are created equal. Glass is heavier and can be broken, while polyamide provides the clarity of glass without the risk of easy breakage. Polycarbonate and acrylic lenses are usually affordable, but they’re not as scratch-resistant as NXT polyurethane or glass. Choose carefully!
